Taxation NPA Seminar Series

Perspectives of the Federal Court's tax jurisprudence
The Federal Court of Australia is pleased to invite practitioners to a Taxation National Practice Area Seminar, presented as part of the Court's 50th Anniversary program.
Over the past 50 years, the Court has made an important contribution to Australian tax jurisprudence. Its work has extended beyond the interpretation and application of the Income Tax Assessment Acts to the administrative law principles that shape taxation decisions and disputes.
The seminar will bring together reflections on the Court's development and contribution to tax law, as well as perspectives on the future of tax litigation in the Court, with contributions from speakers possessing significant experience in the field.
Drawing on more than five decades of experience, Mr David Bloom KC will reflect on the early days of the Federal Court and its evolution over the past 50 years, sharing his recollections of the matters and personalities that helped shape the Court’s tax jurisprudence.

J Mr Bloom KC’s presentation will take place in Melbourne. Ms Deards SC’s presentation will take place in Sydney.
