Justice Abraham was appointed to the Federal Court on 7 May 2019.

Justice Abraham graduated in 1982 with LLB (Hons) from the University of Adelaide and was admitted to the bar in December 1982, being appointed Queen’s Counsel in December 1998.

From 1983 to May 2005 her Honour practised with the South Australian Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and from 1995 as Associate Director. Her Honour was called to the New South Wales Bar in June 2005 and had a national appellate practice, primarily in criminal and quasi-criminal matters. From 2005 to 2009 her Honour was retained full time to appear as national counsel for the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. From 2009 until her appointment to the Court her Honour practised from 12 Wentworth/Selborne Chambers.


Associateship applications

Justice Abraham appoints two Associates, generally for a period of 12 months each.

Justice Abraham’s next vacancy for an associateship is for early 2026 and mid-2026. Any interested persons should forward their application to nswreg@fedcourt.gov.au to the attention of the Chambers of Justice Abraham.

Applications should include a cover letter of no more than two pages, a brief curriculum vitae, university transcript and the details of at least two referees.

Applications for 2026 should be forwarded no later than 31 December 2024.
