Commonwealth Workplace Protection Order Proceedings Practice Note (CWPO-1)

The Federal Court of Australia has published a Commonwealth Workplace Protection Order Practice Note (CWPO-1).

The CWPO Practice Note sets out the practice and procedure of the Court for the institution and case management of applications commenced under the Commonwealth Workplace Protection Orders Act 2025 (Cth). It outlines the types of workplace protection orders that may be sought and and the procedures applicable to proceedings commenced under the Act.

The Practice Note has been approved alongside two forms, which can be found on the Court’s website:

• Form 140 – Originating application – Commonwealth Workplace Protection Order; and
• Form 141 – Interlocutory application – Urgent Interim Commonwealth Workplace Protection Order.
