Mana Grants Program

Mana is a concept shared across Melanesia and Polynesia. It is also familiar in Australia. It broadly signifies authority, efficacy, prestige, and spiritual power. The Mana Grant Program is intended to offer Pacific partner courts the Mana to manage their own affairs and implement their own solutions.

The Program will provide one-off grants of up to AUD20,000 to eligible Pacific partner courts, enabling them to drive the design and delivery of priority local activities that support judicial challenges, collegiality, resilience, and confidence; gender competence and responsiveness; and/or efficiency and effectiveness in the process and its outcomes. Partner courts are encouraged to use the streams of regional workshops to identify, refine and plan reforms, applying for a Mana Grant to implement reforms if remote support from APJP would not be sufficient to achieve their objectives.

Applications can be made in writing by email using the APJP Mana Grants Fund Guidelines and Application Form (PDF, 440 KB).
