You are invited to attend this year's Richard Cooper Memorial Lecture.

The lecture series was inaugurated in 2005 as a joint initiative of the Law School and the Federal Court of Australia in memory of Richard Cooper, a valued friend of the School and Justice of the Federal Court. Each year the lecture is dedicated to the strong interests His Honour developed in the areas of maritime and native title law.

The 2019 Lecture, entitled "The fluctuating incidence of the burden of proof under the Hague-Visby Rules: the implications of Volcafe v CSAV [2019] AC 358 on the position in Australia” will be presented by the Hon Justice A M Stewart.

The event will be hosted in Brisbane and live streamed to the courts in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
