The Hon Jacqueline Sarah GLEESON

Jacqueline Gleeson was appointed to the Federal Court of Australia in April 2014. Her Honour is located in the Sydney Registry of the Court and is a Registry Coordinating judge and duty judge in the Commercial & Corporations National Practice Areas of the Court.
Her Honour has Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from the University of Sydney. She was admitted to practise as a solicitor in New South Wales in 1990 and as a barrister in 1991. In 2000, her Honour left the Bar to become General Counsel at the Australian Broadcasting Authority and later a Senior Executive Lawyer for the Australian Government Solicitor. Her Honour returned to the Bar in 2007 and became Senior Counsel in 2012.
Her Honour is a member of the National Judicial Orientation Program Steering Committee of the National Judicial College of Australia.
Justice Gleeson’s chambers are staffed by two Associates. Each position is typically of 12-18 months’ duration. The next vacant position will commence in July 2022.
Justice Gleeson invites persons interested in the position of Associate commencing July 2022 to apply by 31 December 2020. Applications should take the form of a single page covering letter, brief CV and university transcript.
