Art of delivering justice art prize

The Court hosted a national art competition during 2001-2002 called 'The Art of Delivering Justice Arts Prize'. Two awards in each State and Territory were given for art produced by students in lower secondary to year 10. The winning artworks are featured throughout the Court's website.

The key objective of this project was to promote a greater understanding of the legal system and the role of the Federal Court in delivering justice.

The competition attracted entries from secondary school students from across Australia and judges were greatly impressed by the standard of entries.

A selection of the entries are displayed below:

The artist is Lachlan Amore-Lloyd from Mowbray College
PO Box 172 Melton Vic. Lachlan received the Chief Justice's award.

The artist is Nakerz Monti Wegener from Mowbray College
PO Box 172 Melton Vic. Nakrez was the national individual winner Year 7-9 and Victorian State winner Year 7-9.

This art work is entitled 'Justice Collage'.
The collage was a collaborative entry from John Curtin College of the Arts, Ellen Street Fremantle WA. The Justice Collage was the Western Australian State winner Year 9-11 and received the Chief Justice's award.

The artist is Ebony Tonkin from Naracoorte High School PO Box 771 Naracoorte SA. Ebony was the South Australia state winner for years 9-11

The artist is Kasey Davies from Tooleybuc Central School, Murray Street Tooleybuc. Kasey was the New South Wales state winner for year 7-9.

The artist is Lyn Ha from Daramalan College PO Box 84 Dickson ACT. Lyn was the winner in ACT for years 9-11.

It is a collaborative entry from La Grange Remote Community School, PO Box 574, Broome WA. The artwork was the Western Australia state winner years 7-9.

The artist is Brendan Washingon from Murray High School Kaitlers Road Lavington NSW. Brendon was the New South Wales state winner years 9-11.

The artist is Samuel Griggs from Sacred Heart College Secondary Campus, PO Box 33 Newtown Tas. Samuel was the Tasmania state winner for years 9-11
