You are warmly invited to attend the first event held in Perth in the International Arbitration Series, a joint initiative of the CIArb Australia and Federal Court of Australia. Addressed by a distinguished panel, the topic is International Arbitration and Precedents: Friends or Foes? and will include: An overview of the principles and issues involved; Arguments supporting the position that precedent is a friend of international arbitration; Arguments supporting the opposing view – ie precedent is a foe of international arbitration; A comparative view in other jurisdictions; and A wrap up of the current position and interactive Q & A session.
