Information Sessions for Junior Solicitors, Para-Legals and Outside Clerks - WA Registry
The Western Australia District Registry of the Federal Court will be conducting Information Sessions for junior solicitors, para-legals, outside clerks and articled clerks on Wednesday 2 September 2009 and Thursday 3 September 2009. Each session will commence at 8.45 am and will occupy approximately one and a half hours. Sessions will be conducted in courtroom 1 on Level 7 of the Commonwealth Law Courts, 1 Victoria Avenue, Perth.
The sessions will cover, amongst other things, the following topics:
(i) the form of documents and the filing requirements under the Federal Court Rules (including Corporations Act) and Admiralty Rules;
(ii) jurisdiction of the Court, including Native Title and Human Rights jurisdictions;
(iii) registry services that are available;
(iv) information about the Court, including information available on the internet;
(v) the Court’s case management system and ADR processes;
(vi) eCourt strategy, eSearch and electronic filing system;
(vii) information concerning the Federal Magistrates Court; and
(viii) major changes to jurisdiction (Fair Work) and new Fast Track procedures.
