Changed library access arrangements (Q5/04)
Arrangements concerning access by
practitioners and litigants to the library of the Federal
Court at Brisbane will change as from Monday 20 September
2004. From that date, physical access to the library
will not be available to external users and the following
will apply -
- Practitioners and litigants may access the library
catalogue and a database of the Court's judgments at
the registry counter at Level 6 of the Commonwealth
Law Courts. A computer terminal will be located there
for search purposes.
- A telephone will also be available at that location
for use by practitioners and litigants to enable them
to request material from library staff. Material that
may be requested will be limited to bound volumes and
does not extend to loose leaf services, parts and pamphlets.
Items requested will be delivered from the library
to the registry counter and may be taken to Court.
That service will be available from 9.30 am to 12.45
pm and from 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm Monday to Friday. Books
must be returned to the registry counter at the end
of each day.
- Photocopying facilities will be provided at the registry
counter.
- Material may be brought from the library to the Court
at the direction of a judge.
