This notice advises of the administrative arrangements for the handling of Corporations matters (being matters under the Corporations Act 2001 and the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Act 2001) in the New South Wales Registry of the Court from 4 February 2008. Listing of Urgent Corporations Matters
2. All urgent Corporations applications, including ex parte applications, will be heard by a Corporations List Judge. There are three Corporations List Judges in NSW:
Lindgren J
Emmett J
Jacobson J
Urgent applications may be made any day of the week directly to the Corporations List Judge rostered on duty (‘Corporations Duty Judge’) during business hours by contacting that Judge’s associate.
Details of the rostered Corporations Duty Judge are available daily in the Court List or on Level 3 of the Law Courts Building. For urgent Corporation matters out of business hours, the standard after hours arrangements for the Federal Court apply with parties being able to contact Law Courts Security desk on (02) 9230 8025.
Listing of Non urgent Corporations Matters
3. General Corporations matters are initially made returnable before a Registrar generally on a Friday at 9.15 am. The Registrar deals with matters within the Registrar’s delegation which the Registrar considers appropriate to be dealt with by a Registrar.
Matters that are not within the Registrar’s delegation or which the Registrar does not consider appropriate to be dealt with by a Registrar are referred to the Corporations Duty Judge or allocated to a Corporations Panel Judge’s docket in the usual way.
4. A Corporations Duty Judge sits on Fridays at 9.30 am to deal with matters referred from the Registrar’s 9.15am list and such other matters that are appropriate to be dealt with by the Corporations Duty Judge.
Corporations Panel
5. All Corporations matters that are not dealt with by the Corporations Duty Judge or are not within a Registrar’s delegation are allocated to the docket of a Corporations Panel Judge. In NSW, the Corporations Panel consists of the following Judges:
Lindgren J (Panel Co-ordinator), Tamberlin J, Sackville J, Emmett J, Gyles J, Stone J, Jacobson J, Graham J, Rares J.
