eLodgment Security Policy

The Federal Court of Australia is committed to providing secure on-line services.

The Court uses SSL certificates to encrypt information being transmitted through the Internet to the Court’s eServices facilities. This encryption prevents the information being viewed or tampered with during transit. Information entered into eLodgment (such as party names and details) is stored on a secure system that has been designed to ensure that loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration or destruction of this information does not occur.

The Court’s infrastructure and that of our secure hosting service providers operate within Firewalls which provide users with secure access through the Internet to our eServices.

The Court will not disclose any personal information that it receives through its eServices to any external organisations except to the extent to which such disclosure is required or authorised by law.

What is your responsibility?

While all efforts are made to ensure the security of your information, users of eServices are responsible for keeping their personal Identifiers (IDs) and passwords secure at all times to avoid unauthorised use.

The Court will consider that messages and documents sent through eLodgment or another eServices’ facility from a particular account have been sent by, and are the responsibility of, the person to whom that account was allocated.

If you have any questions about this policy please contact your local Federal Court Registry or email elodgment_admin@fedcourt.gov.au.
