Peter Cadden Heerey was appointed a judge of the Federal Court of Australia in 1990.
He graduated from the University of Tasmania as Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours). After practice as a solicitor in Hobart he commenced practice at the Victorian Bar in 1967 and was appointed Queens Counsel in 1985.
Justice Heerey is President of the Defence Force Discipline Appeal Tribunal, a Deputy President of the Australian Competition Tribunal and a Presidential member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
