Julie Anne Dodds-Streeton was appointed to the Federal Court of Australia in February 2010.  Prior to that, she was a Justice of Appeal in the Supreme Court of Victoria (appointed in August 2007), having previously been a Judge of the Trial Division of that Court (appointed in July 2002).  When appointed to the bench, Justice Dodds-Streeton was practising as Senior Counsel at the Victorian Bar, principally in commercial law.

Justice Dodds-Streeton holds the degrees of BA (Hons) (Melb); LLB (Hons) (Melb) and MA (Mon).

From 1974 to 1976 her Honour taught history at the University of Melbourne.  She was admitted to practice in 1981 and after signing the roll of counsel in 1988 combined her Bar practice with work at the University of Melbourne where she was a Senior Lecturer in Law until 1994.
