In accordance with section 18S of the
Federal
Court of Australia Act 1976, the Chief Justice must
as soon as practicable after 30 June in each year, prepare
and give to the Attorney-General a report of the management
of the administrative affairs of the Court during the
year.
The report includes features such as summaries of interesting cases and an outline of the Court’s work in areas such as native title and activities with overseas courts, as well as information about the Court’s general operations and performance.
The report must include the
financial statements required by section
49 of the Financial
Management and Accountability Act 1997,
and an audit report on those statements under section
57 of the Financial
Management and Accountability Act 1997.
